E-government, as an advanced tool for modernizing government systems and improving public service efficiency, significantly impacts citizen-government interaction. This study aims to examine various aspects of citizen engagement in e-government, including its impact on accessibility, transparency, and accountability. In developed countries, e-government has helped improve public service quality and increase citizen access to information by reducing time and financial costs. However, in developing countries like Iran, challenges remain, particularly regarding insufficient infrastructure, lack of system integration, cybersecurity threats, and the digital divide. Using a descriptive-analytical method and reviewing scientific documents, international reports, and experiences from various countries, this research analyzes the role of new technologies in creating transparency and accountability. Additionally, models for improving citizen interaction with e-government and addressing existing problems in Iran's e-government systems are proposed. The results indicate that for an effective e-government in Iran, effective measures need to be taken in system integration, strengthening cybersecurity, digital literacy education, and increasing public participation.
